Cardano, the pensions risk and investment management specialist, has appointed Phil Yeoman as Group Chief Data Officer, effective 1 August.

Cardano joined NOW: Pensions, part of the Cardano Group, in May 2020 as Head of Data, establishing and driving data governance, data quality and data management. In his newly expanded role, Phil will lead the data governance teams at Cardano and NOW: Pensions and be responsible for the development and delivery of the Group data strategy, data governance and data-driven innovation. He will report to Simon Hale, Group Chief Technology Officer at Cardano.

For over 20 years, Cardano has been passionate about the transformative power of data and the value it brings to both individuals and businesses. Phil joined the Group from The Pension Regulator where he served as Head of Data Governance, successfully leveraging data analytics and business intelligence to inform policy guidance and decision making. Prior to this, Phil was the former Deputy Director at the Department for Work and Pensions, leading the Government’s Analysis of Economic reforms focused on Extending Working Lives.

Simon Hale, Group Chief Technology Officer at Cardano, commented: “I am delighted to appoint Phil as our first Group Chief Data Officer. As Cardano Group grows, we continually look to leverage people in our businesses to drive consistency of thought and process. Data is and will continue to be an increasingly important area for Cardano, enabling us to support our clients and deliver on promises to their pension members.”
