A breakout above it could signal bullish momentum and a trend reversal, while failure to hold may keep Bitcoin in a corrective phase or push it lower.
Crypto analyst Luca highlighted that Bitcoin recently dipped below the high-timeframe support range marked in purple, briefly deviating toward the 0.786 Fibonacci point of interest around $65,900. Following that move, the price is now approaching the previously lost high-timeframe support zone, which coincides with the early April 2025 bottoming structure. This region also overlaps with the 3-day Bull Market Support Band, an area that has served as a strong reversal point several times over the past few months.
Luca explained that this confluence of technical levels is the reason he has not yet reduced his hedge positions. Instead, he prefers to remain cautious until the market provides clearer confirmation of strength. According to Luca, such confirmation would likely come from Bitcoin reclaiming the lost support range or breaking above the Bull Market Support Band.

Until that happens, the analyst warns that the current approach to this zone could still result in a rejection, meaning the move might represent a temporary bounce rather than a confirmed recovery. Luca also emphasized that traders should focus more on protecting capital rather than chasing profits at this stage. Only once clear strength appears, and the probability shifts toward a sustained upside continuation, would it make sense to adopt a more aggressive bullish stance.
According to Luca, the key confirmation level he is watching right now sits around $77,000. A decisive breakout above that level would signal stronger market momentum. Thus, Luca plans to gradually scale out of his hedge positions and rotate that capital back into his spot holdings, anticipating a more sustainable move to the upside.
Luca also noted that attempting to squeeze out an extra 10–15% gain at current levels may not be the best risk decision. Instead of aggressively chasing short-term profits, he prefers to wait for a clear confirmation that the market structure is shifting in favor of the bulls.
He added that the potential upside could be significantly larger if Bitcoin successfully reclaims the $77,000 level. However, exiting hedge positions too early could expose traders to the risk of a bullish fakeout, where the price briefly moves higher before resuming its downward trend. Because of that possibility, Luca maintains a cautious stance until stronger confirmation appears.
]]>Keshav is currently a senior writer at NewsBTC and has been attached to the website since June 14, 2021.
Keshav has been writing for many years, first as a hobbyist and later as a freelancer. He has experience working in a variety of niches, even fiction at one point, but the cryptocurrency industry has been the longest he has been attached to.
In terms of official educational qualifications, Keshav holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from one of the premier institutes of India, the University of Delhi (DU). He started the degree with an aim of eventually making a career in Physics, but the onset of COVID led to a shift in plans. The virus meant that the college classes had to be delivered in the online-mode and with it came free time for him to explore other passions.
Initially only seeking to make some beer money, Keshav unexpectedly landed clients offering real projects, after which there was no looking back. Writing was something he had always enjoyed and to be able to do it for a living was like a dream come true.
Keshav completed his Physics degree in 2022 and has been focusing on his writing career since, but that doesn’t mean his passion for Physics has ended. He eventually plans to re-enter university to obtain a masters degree in the same field, but perhaps only to satiate his own interest rather than for using it as a means to find employment..
Keshav has found blockchain and its concepts fascinating ever since he started going down the rabbit-hole back in 2020. On-chain analysis in particular has been something he likes to research more about, which is why his NewsBTC pieces tend to involve it in some form.
Being of the science background, Keshav likes if concepts are clear and consistent, so he generally explains the indicators he talks about in a bit of detail so that the readers can perhaps come out having understood and learnt something new.
As for hobbies, Keshav is super into football, anime, and videogames. He enjoys football not only as a watcher, but also as a player. For games, Keshav generally tends towards enjoying singleplayer adventures, with EA FC (formerly FIFA) being the only online game he is active in. Though, perhaps due to being ultra-focused on the game, he is today a semi-pro on the EA FC scene, regularly participating in tournaments and sometimes even taking back prize money.
Because of his enthusiasm for anime and games, he also self-learned Japanese along the way to consume some of the untranslated gems out there. The skill didn’t merely remain as just a hobby, either, as he put it to productive use during his exploration for small-time gigs at the start of COVID, fulfilling a couple of Japanese-to-English translation jobs.
Keshav is also big into fitness, with agility and acceleration-related workouts making a big part of his program due to the relevance they have in football. On top of that, he also has a more traditional strength based program for the gym, which he does to maintain an overall fitness level of his body.
Ethereum is once again testing the strength of its key support band around the $3,700 zone, a level that has acted as a crucial lifeline for bulls in recent months. With momentum fading after repeated rejections near resistance, speculations are whether buyers can step in to spark a renewed push upward or if a deeper correction is on the horizon.
In his latest market update, Luca shared insights on Ethereum’s current technical setup, noting that the asset recently faced rejection at the high-timeframe resistance zone he had highlighted in earlier analyses. This rejection aligns with the golden pocket between the 0.5 and 0.618 Fibonacci points of interest (POIs). Following this rejection, Ethereum’s price has retreated into the broader accumulation range marked in green on his chart.
According to Luca, this accumulation zone has served as a strong reversal area in recent months, providing crucial support whenever price corrections intensified. It also coincides with the Weekly Bull Market Support Band, reinforcing its importance as a potential turning point in Ethereum’s next major move.

Despite this, the analyst cautioned that the current market structure appears vulnerable to a breakdown. Luca emphasized that while he remains optimistic about Ethereum’s long-term potential, if the breakdown is confirmed, he plans to stay objective by hedging part of his spot holdings. Doing so, he believes, would help reduce exposure to downside volatility while keeping capital ready to re-enter the market once a more sustainable bullish reversal emerges.
Luca concluded by reiterating his adaptive trading strategy, a balance between flexibility and discipline. By maintaining moderate cash positions and exposure to defensive assets, he ensures the ability to act quickly when clear opportunities arise while safeguarding capital during volatile market phases.
According to GrayWolf6, Ethereum is currently trading within a defined range between $3,900 and $3,100, with the price recently touching the mid-range support area around $3,600–$3,700. He noted that the Stochastic RSI is flashing a bullish signal, hinting at the potential for a short-term rebound from this zone as buyers begin to regain momentum.
GrayWolf6 further explained that since ETH reached $4,250 just a few days ago, another move toward the upper band remains a possibility. Should the price reclaim strength, the next upside target could extend to around $5,200.
Despite this optimistic outlook, the analyst cautioned that Ethereum remains confined within the lower range, keeping the downside risk near $3,100 in play. He mentioned taking profits on his earlier short position and is now watching closely for signs of a bounce from this intermediate support level. For him, the strategy remains steady, risk-managed, positions hedged, and the next move is patiently waiting.

Ethereum has faced one of its most turbulent weeks in months, with sharp swings in price shaking both bulls and bears. Earlier in the week, ETH dipped below the $4,200 level, marking a local low that sparked concern among traders about deeper corrections. However, sentiment shifted quickly as Ethereum bounced back with remarkable strength, rallying throughout the week and eventually setting a new all-time high at $4,886 on Friday.
This comeback reinforced Ethereum’s strong market structure and highlighted the resilience of buyers who continue to step in at critical support levels. Analysts point to institutional accumulation, declining supply on exchanges, and rising DeFi activity as key drivers behind Ethereum’s upward momentum. Despite heightened volatility, bulls appear to have regained control as the asset edges closer to uncharted territory.
Top analyst Darkfost shared insights suggesting that Ethereum is now approaching its upper realized price band, a level often seen as a signal for profit-taking among seasoned investors. Historically, these upper bands have marked overheated conditions, but they also confirm robust strength in the market. The coming days will be pivotal as Ethereum tests whether it can sustain momentum and extend its breakout phase.
According to top analyst Darkfost, Ethereum is now entering a critical stage as it flirts with its upper realized price band. The Realized Price Bands indicator is designed to provide a clear picture of where the market stands compared to investors’ realized cost basis. It does this by extrapolating upper and lower bands from Ethereum’s realized price. The lower, or blue band, offers insight into baseline valuations, often reflecting where long-term holders have historically accumulated.

The red band, in contrast, signals moments when the price has moved into a strong positive deviation from the realized value. Seasoned investors frequently interpret this as a signal to take profits, as it often marks conditions where market sentiment is overheated. These phases can extend for weeks, allowing prices to remain elevated, but they have historically preceded more severe pullbacks or the beginning of broader bearish trends.
Ethereum’s approach to this upper band is therefore significant. Darkfost emphasizes that while the indicator is simple in design, its ability to flag overheated market conditions has proven effective across multiple cycles. If ETH sustains its position near or above this band, it could indicate the start of a short-term overheated phase.
Such phases often attract rapid speculative flows, which can push prices to new highs. However, once momentum fades, these same flows tend to unwind sharply, creating bear markets. For traders and investors, Ethereum’s test of the realized price bands could be a turning point, signaling whether the asset enters a prolonged bullish extension or prepares for a cyclical reset.
Ethereum’s 4-hour chart shows a strong rebound from the $4,200 region, confirming that bulls defended a critical support zone. After a sharp correction earlier in the week, ETH surged aggressively and is now trading near $4,767. The breakout came with a steep rally that cleared both the 50-day and 100-day moving averages, turning them into immediate support levels.

The price structure suggests renewed bullish momentum, especially after Ethereum printed a strong green candle that erased several days of losses in just hours. ETH is now consolidating above the 200-day moving average, a historically significant level that reinforces the bullish trend. If bulls maintain this level, Ethereum could retest its all-time high near $4,886 and potentially enter new price discovery.
On the downside, immediate support sits around $4,400, marked by the 100-day moving average. A break below this level could open the way to $4,200 again, where bulls must defend to avoid a deeper retracement.
The chart signals strength, with higher lows forming after each correction. Combined with strong fundamentals and institutional activity, ETH remains positioned for further upside, although volatility should be expected as it approaches record highs.

Ethereum is trading at key levels as price action consolidates above the $1,500 mark. After weeks of high volatility and macro-driven selling pressure, ETH is showing signs of stability — and analysts are watching closely. A breakout above nearby resistance could signal the start of a recovery rally, especially if momentum continues to build in the days ahead.
However, not all market watchers are convinced. Some analysts believe Ethereum may still face another leg down before a true reversal can begin. According to on-chain data from Glassnode, the MVRV Pricing Bands — which reflect market-wide cost basis and investor sentiment — highlight the next major support around $1,367. Historically, buying ETH below this lower MVRV band has offered strong long-term returns, but also coincided with peak market fear.
For now, Ethereum appears to be at a crossroads. A decisive move above short-term resistance could attract sidelined buyers and shift sentiment bullish. But failing to hold current levels could lead to a retest of lower support zones. The coming days may prove pivotal in defining Ethereum’s medium-term trend — and whether the bulls are truly ready to return.
This is a critical week for Ethereum, as price action will determine whether the recent consolidation above $1,500 can hold — or if further declines are on the horizon. Global tensions and macroeconomic uncertainty continue to pressure markets, with the ongoing U.S.-China trade war and instability in equities shaking investor confidence. While traditional markets tremble, crypto assets are showing early signs of decoupling. Ethereum, in particular, appears to be stabilizing and finding demand in the face of broader risk-off sentiment.
Despite the volatility, some analysts believe the worst may be behind for Ethereum — or at least that current prices offer compelling risk-reward setups. Top analyst Ali Martinez shared insights on X, noting that historically, buying Ethereum below the lower MVRV Pricing Band has delivered strong returns. That key level, based on on-chain cost-basis data, now sits at $1,367.

The MVRV (Market Value to Realized Value) Pricing Bands help identify overvalued and undervalued conditions by comparing ETH’s market price to its realized price — the average acquisition cost for all ETH on the network. When ETH trades below the lower band, it suggests the asset is undervalued and often precedes price rebounds.
If Ethereum holds current support and reclaims momentum above resistance zones, a recovery rally may follow. But if bearish sentiment regains control, a retest of the $1,367 MVRV support level could come fast. Either way, Ethereum’s price action this week will be key to understanding whether the market is shifting toward strength — or preparing for another leg down.
Ethereum (ETH) is currently trading at $1,620 after several days of sideways action, struggling to push above the $1,700 resistance level. Despite the lack of a breakout, ETH has shown resilience by holding firmly above the $1,550 support zone, a level that has acted as a floor during recent volatility.

A decisive move is likely approaching. If bulls manage to reclaim the $1,800 level — where the 4-hour 200 MA and EMA converge — momentum could accelerate, setting the stage for a push toward the critical $2,000 psychological and technical resistance. Reclaiming that level would confirm a bullish trend reversal and likely spark renewed confidence across the altcoin market.
On the other hand, if Ethereum fails to maintain its footing above $1,550 and selling pressure increases, a break below $1,400 would confirm a continuation of the broader downtrend. Such a move would test lower demand zones, with $1,367 — the lower MVRV Pricing Band — seen by some analysts as the next key support.
As price remains compressed within a tight range, market participants are watching closely for a breakout in either direction that will define the next major move for Ethereum.

Crypto analyst Tony Severino has provided some insights into the current Bitcoin price action. He revealed that the Bitcoin upper hand has moved above $105,400 and hinted at where the flagship crypto could be heading next.
In an X post, Severino revealed that Bitcoin’s upper band is now above $105,400. With this development, he alluded to a previous analysis in which he revealed what could happen once the price breaks above $105,400. In the analysis, the crypto analyst mentioned that things could get interesting once BTC breaks above $105,400.
He then predicted that Bitcoin could rally to as high as $170,000. The analyst made this prediction while revealing how BTC witnessed a 90% surge from the wick low at the lower band to the local high. This happened the last time the flagship crypto got a head fake to the lower band before moving to the upper band.
Based on this trend, Severino believes the Bitcoin price could record another 90% surge and rally to as high as $170,000. This price target is significant as it could mark the top for the flagship crypto. The crypto analyst mentioned that the cycle top for Bitcoin can be discussed once BTC reaches this $170,000 target.
However, market experts like Standard Chartered have suggested that Bitcoin could rally beyond this $170,000 target. The financial institution predicted that a rally to $200,000 by year-end is achievable. Bernstein analysts also described a rally to $200,000 by year-end as conservative, meaning Bitcoin could rally higher.
This bullish outlook for Bitcoin mainly stems from the fact that Donald Trump is set to take office on January 20. The pro-crypto US president-elect is expected to implement a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve for the country, which will boost the flagship crypto’s adoption.
Crypto analyst Rekt Capital has suggested that Bitcoin will soon reach a new all-time high (ATH). In an X post, he stated that BTC is one daily resistance away from breaking out to a new ATH yet again. The crypto analyst added that a daily close above the final resistance followed by a post-breakout retest would be enough to launch the flagship crypto into price discovery.

Until then, Rekt Capital mentioned that Bitcoin would continue to range between $101,000 and $106,000. Crypto analyst Titan of Crypto offered a more optimistic outlook for the BTC, stating that the flagship crypto has started its rally. He remarked that, as anticipated, the crypto has broken through resistance and is now primed for a strong rally.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at around $103,509, up in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
