In the video, Snoop Dogg gives multiple shoutouts to the 35-year-old tech mogul and the Cardano community, while also advocating for cryptocurrencies as an alternative to greedy centralized central banks and their lack of privacy. The song was released by Snoop Dogg’s recently acquired Death Row Records and is featured in the extended play dedicated to the Claymates NFT collection. To celebrate the music video release, Clay Nation hosted a cocktail party in Lausanne, while Cardano founder Hoskinson gave the intro speech.
Following the news, the ClayMates NFT collection on the Cardano network shot up by 42.9% in sales transactions in the last 24 hours. Besides, the music video premiere also serves as a satellite event for Cardano Summit 2022, which is also ongoing until November 22nd, 2022.

Cardano (ADA) Price Caught Up In The Crypto Slump
The Cardano blockchain still suffers from the aftershocks of the crypto thunderstorm caused by the rapid downfall of FTX, the second-largest global crypto exchange. As reported by U.Today, in April, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, Snoop Dogg and son Champ Medici held a Twitter conversation while an official partnership with Clay Nation was unveiled.
In August, Clay Nation decided to take its relationship with Champ Medici a little further. Snoop Dogg’s son, Champ Medici, officially joined the Cardano NFT project “Clay Mates” team, according to the official announcement. Medici joins the project to develop strategic partnerships as well as to expand its reach.
Champ Medici, who refers to himself as a die-hard Cardano fan, has repeatedly expressed his love for what is probably the hottest of the Cardano NFT projects, Clay Nation.

Cardano closed September stronger
Cardano closed September stronger, according to recent on-chain data shared by the Cardano Foundation. Cardano also saw a nice uplift in smart contract use. Per the data reported, transaction volumes grew by 51.3%, metadata rose by 23.6% and the use of smart contracts increased by 11% with metadata and 14% without.
The number of transactions also touched the 51.2 million mark, up 4.2% from August. At the same time, the total number of wallets grew by 1.34%, while those delegating ADA to stake increased by 3.4%.
Cardano now has over 6.1 million native assets minted under 62,162 token policies. The Plutus smart contract platform has over 3,307 scripts presently.

Famous crypto enthusiast and son of hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, Champ Medici, has released a mini music album dedicated to Cardano and the most high-profile NFT project of the blockchain, Clay Mates. The release was the young artist’s first since he officially joined the Clay Nation team in August of this year.

On the three-track EP entitled Clay Nation Tapes, Vol. I, Champ Medici describes his crypto experience with bravado and enthusiasm. The first track, titled ADA Dreams, where the artist rhymes about his dreams of prosperity from investing in Cardano and sees images of green dollar signs, also features a skit with Snoop Dogg himself talking about how cryptocurrencies and blockchain will change the world.
Further on, in the track Manifest, the rapper states that he is not selling his investment but is holding onto it and not listening to the news so that it does not confuse his plans. “Too legit to quit,” states Champ Medici. In the final part of the album, the artist, with his characteristic ambitiousness, lays down bars on the beat about NFT and buying his lady expensive digital art collections.
Most hyped Cardano NFT project
Clay Nation Tapes, Vol. I, was released on Clay Nation Records and, judging by the title, is not the last musical collaboration between Champ Medici and the digital creators.

The album release conveniently coincided with the Clay Mates project’s first birthday, which was Sept. 9. According to the data given by the studio, more than 4,200 people became owners of items from the collection during the year, and its turnover on the secondary market exceeded 25 million ADA.

Interview with Cardano NFT project Clay Nation
During May, Clay Nation was a guest on the Cardano NFT Column on The Cryptonomist, describing the project and future visions. Lenna and Issy are the co-founders of the project, which launched in April 2021 and involves clay, decentralized technologies, creativity and innovation.

It’s also important to note that Medici is one of the few celebrity figures that backed Cardano. Upgrade Nodes- says Cardano founder
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has urged stake pool operators to upgrade their nodes in one of his recent tweets. He asked the operators to upgrade to version 1.35.3 to brace themselves for the Vasil hardfork upgrade.
Cardano node 1.35.3 has been released by LawrenceIO. The Cardano Node 1.35.3 update was issued on August 11, according to Cardano Updates.
The Cardano network hoped to launch the hard fork in July. The network, however, disclosed that it was being stretched. It should be cited that this was not Vasil’s first experience with a delay. Typically, at such times, the community becomes suspicious and continues to sell off their possessions. However, the ADA community appeared to be upbeat about the debut.
ADA is currently trading at $0.5382, with a 4% drop in the last 24 hours. However, ADA has displayed a 14% gain in the last 30 days.

Activity ramps up ahead of Vasil’s hard fork
In its most recent weekly development update, Cardano’s IOHK shares preparations for the upcoming Vasil hard fork, tentatively slated for the end of June. The Daedalus team finished the upgrade implementation of Webpack 5.
As earlier reported, Ledger Live added support for Cardano’s ADA during the past week.
In its weekly report, IOHK supplied a chart providing network growth information. Currently, 1,020 projects are building on Cardano, while a total of 90 projects have recently been launched on Cardano. The number of NFT projects has climbed to 5,868, and the number of Plutus scripts is now 2,817. Cardano native tokens have also surpassed 5.2 million.
ADA is trading down 7.34% in the last 24 hours at $0.45.

Snoop Dogg, alias Cozomo Medici, and his son, Champ Medici, launched their official collaboration with Cardano-based NFT project Clay Nation in April, delivering iconic clay animations, land pitches and unlockable music content to Cardano.
Over five million NFTs have been minted on the Cardano network. The number of native assets issued on the Cardano blockchain is currently 5,030,192, according to pool.pm data, with 54,897 distinct minting policies.
The increase in the number of minted non-fungible art and projects is tied to the expansion of the Cardano network. According to CoinMarketCap data, Cardano is the sixth largest cryptocurrency with a market valuation of $22.29 billion at the time of writing.

On May 27, the ADA price fell to $0.44 before rebounding. ADA was trading up 28.40% at $0.669 at the time of publication, marking the fourth straight day of positive price activity. ADA hit intraday highs of $0.689 earlier today and is up 28.93% in the last week.
Speaking on the recent price increase on ADA, on-chain analytics firm Santiment noted a corresponding increase in development activity, stating, “Cardano is one of many altcoins that have enjoyed a great start to the week, currently +13% in the past 24 hours. Development activity has hit AllTimeHigh levels, as ADA’s team worked on innovating while prices were suppressed.”
According to recent statistics shared by IOHK regarding the network, currently, 986 projects are building on Cardano, up from 943 previously. A total of 88 projects have recently been launched on Cardano, while the number of NFT projects has risen to 5,727.
Fresh from the Superbowl stage, Snoop Dogg is back on the news. His metaverse play is getting bigger and bolder, but, is he on the right track? The legendary rapper recently bought the iconic Death Row Records brand. He now owns the record label where his career started, but, what is he going to do with it? Death Row Records will be… an NFT label? Really?
Apparently so, in a recent ClubHouse appearance Snoop Dogg confirmed his plans:
“Death Row will be an NFT label. We will be putting out artists through the metaverse, or through a whole other chain of music. Just like we broke the industry when we was the first independent to be major, I want to be the first major in the metaverse. So, Death Row will be in NFT land.”

On one hand, it sounds incredible. Snoop Dogg is already in business with a few metaverse-oriented brands. On the other, it just doesn’t click. Death Row Records used to be America’s most controversial and dangerous record label. That and the metaverse don’t seem to mix.

How Did Snoop Dogg Get Death Row Records?
When Snoop Dogg “acquired the Death Row Records brand from MNRK Music Group,” he told BusinessWire:
“I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value. It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members.”
The hip-hop community loved the news. Trapital’s Dan Runcie tweeted, “In most deals, artist sells to investors or record labels. This is the artist who helped make that catalog now buying it outright. That’s dope.” However, look at the announcement’s wording. Snoop Dogg only bought the Death Row Records brand, not its catalog. He surely had some other deals in mind.

The Dogg, NFTs And The Metaverse
A couple of months ago, Snoop Dogg announced he bought a family of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs and started talking about The Sandbox metaverse. Our sister site NewsBTC reported on the news:

Snoop Dogg also recently released his latest album B.O.D.R., which stands for “Bacc on Death Row.” For the NFT portion of the release, he partnered with Gala Games, a blockchain gaming company. Through the Gala Music store, people can buy a version that has 3 bonus tracks and goes for $5K. What’s the catch? Well, for $5K you get NFTs for all of the songs.

In a press release, Snoop Dogg said:

So, to summarize: Snoop Dogg bought the Death Row Records brand and released an album titled “Bacc on Death Row” just before performing on the biggest stage around, the Superbowl. What a businessman. Maybe he’s just the person to successfully mix Death Row and the metaverse.
