But for Christian, that’s not just a metaphor, it’s a lifestyle. By day, he navigates the ever-shifting tides of the cryptocurrency market, wielding words like a seasoned editor and crafting articles that decipher the jargon for the masses. When the PC goes on hibernate mode, however, his pursuits take a more mechanical (and sometimes philosophical) turn.
Christian’s journey with the written word began long before the age of Bitcoin. In the hallowed halls of academia, he honed his craft as a feature writer for his college paper. This early love for storytelling paved the way for a successful stint as an editor at a data engineering firm, where his first-month essay win funded a months-long supply of doggie and kitty treats – a testament to his dedication to his furry companions (more on that later).
Christian then roamed the world of journalism, working at newspapers in Canada and even South Korea. He finally settled down at a local news giant in his hometown in the Philippines for a decade, becoming a total news junkie. But then, something new caught his eye: cryptocurrency. It was like a treasure hunt mixed with storytelling – right up his alley!
So, he landed a killer gig at NewsBTC, where he’s one of the go-to guys for all things crypto. He breaks down this confusing stuff into bite-sized pieces, making it easy for anyone to understand (he salutes his management team for teaching him this skill).
Think Christian’s all work and no play? Not a chance! When he’s not at his computer, you’ll find him indulging his passion for motorbikes. A true gearhead, Christian loves tinkering with his bike and savoring the joy of the open road on his 320-cc Yamaha R3. Once a speed demon who hit 120mph (a feat he vowed never to repeat), he now prefers leisurely rides along the coast, enjoying the wind in his thinning hair.
Speaking of chill, Christian’s got a crew of furry friends waiting for him at home. Two cats and a dog. He swears cats are way smarter than dogs (sorry, Grizzly), but he adores them all anyway. Apparently, watching his pets just chillin’ helps him analyze and write meticulously formatted articles even better.
Here’s the thing about this guy: He works a lot, but he keeps himself fueled by enough coffee to make it through the day – and some seriously delicious (Filipino) food. He says a delectable meal is the secret ingredient to a killer article. And after a long day of crypto crusading, he unwinds with some rum (mixed with milk) while watching slapstick movies.
Looking ahead, Christian sees a bright future with NewsBTC. He says he sees himself privileged to be part of an awesome organization, sharing his expertise and passion with a community he values, and fellow editors – and bosses – he deeply respects.
So, the next time you tread into the world of cryptocurrency, remember the man behind the words – the crypto crusader, the grease monkey, and the feline philosopher, all rolled into one.

Following a rollercoaster performance during the past week, Bitcoin has had a somewhat stable price action throughout the weekend. With eyes on the escalating tensions in the Middle East, it’s been a little challenging to determine the future trajectory of the crypto market.
Nevertheless, the technical and on-chain structure of the premier cryptocurrency suggests that the bear market is still fully on. In fact, the latest on-chain evaluation suggests that the price of Bitcoin is still vulnerable to downside volatility.
In a new post on the X platform, on-chain analyst Boris argued that the Bitcoin price remains within market structures that ultimately lead to downside movements. This observation is based on the rising long-term holder (LTH) Active Supply Ratio, indicating an increasing level of activity within the LTH supply.
According to Boris, volatility typically emerges within the long-term holder supply before major upward price movements. This phase is characterized by the strategic distribution of Bitcoin to the right locations in preparation for market activity.
Boris said:
As the market rises, these coins are gradually distributed to meet demand. When demand begins to weaken, the market typically transitions into a sideways structure, allowing the distribution process to continue.
Now, the Bitcoin market tends to enter a downward move once the distribution phase is complete and fresh positions are established. For instance, since the start of this increase in LTH activity, the price of BTC has fallen from around $95,000 to nearly $60,000.
Interestingly, the Bitcoin price decline has not reversed the upward trend in the long-term holder supply, implying that downside movement is still a major possibility. “Even if we see upward movements in the coming weeks, these are likely to represent a liquidity illusion occurring within the broader distribution phase,” Boris said.
The analyst noted that although the $60,000–$62,000 range appears to be a support zone, the current market structure suggests that this region may simply be acting as a liquidity generation zone within a redistribution phase. A liquidity generation zone (or liquidity zone) typically refers to a key technical area with a concentration of trading orders, typically stop losses and limit orders.
Boris concluded that, based on the current data evidence, downward price movements toward the end of the year seem to be the more probable scenario for Bitcoin.
As of this writing, the price of BTC stands at around $67,628, reflecting a 1% decline in the past 24 hours.

A recent evaluation has surfaced that reveals that Bitcoin’s long-term holders are slowly easing away from their deep profits, and that this could affect prices in either way, depending on further developments.
In a recent QuickTake post on CryptoQuant, a pseudonymous on-chain analyst, Darkfost, reveals that Bitcoin’s long-term holders are entering a fragile phase in the current cycle. This post is based on readings obtained from the BTC: Long-Term Holders (LTH) SOPR metric, which tracks if coins moved by Long-Term Holders are done profitably, or at a loss.
A SOPR value above 1 reflects that holders of this category are, on average, realizing profits, while a reading below 1 signals that these coins are being moved at a loss. According to Darkfost, the current readings from the SOPR metric have fallen under the critical 1 level, and currently sit around 0.98
This is a sign that Bitcoin’s LTHs, which are typically the strongest investor hands in the market, are beginning to realize losses on a monthly basis. Interestingly, the scenario is somewhat different on the annual timeframe.
Darkfost further highlights that, although the monthly timeframe leans towards the red zone, the annualized SOPR still sits well into positive territory, with readings at approximately 1.84. According to the analyst, this represents about 84% in average realized gains, by implication.
However, the annualized profits have taken on a downward trend and have been slowly falling. Notably, the LTH SOPR has not gone higher than 3.4 on the charts throughout the current cycle, a value that is approximately half the readings seen in the previous cycle’s peak. Interestingly, this is also less than four times the peak of the two previous cycles, suggesting a less impulsive distribution among this investor cohort.

Furthermore, Darkfost conjures historical data, showing that bear markets have formed only after the SOPR dropped towards the 0.6 region, a level that correlates with average realized losses of approximately 40%. Hence, while the current reading on the metric is below 1 every month, it is still far from the zone representing capitulation.
For now, the Long-term holders have entered what seems to be a transitional phase. In the scenario where Long-Term Holder realized profits continue to fade, selling pressure might in turn erode from this side. As of this writing, the Bitcoin price stands at a valuation of approximately $64,247, reflecting a loss of 4.85% over the past day.
]]>The Bitcoin market experienced a shockingly dramatic weekend, as opposed to the typical silent price action displayed in previous weekends. On Saturday, January 31st, the world’s leading cryptocurrency seemingly led other crypto assets south of the charts, with its price falling from $84,350 to as low as $75,000 in a single swoop.
As this unfolded, an inversely correlated shift also played out underneath the charts. A recent on-chain evaluation has pointed out that Bitcoin’s Long-term Holder behavior is changing, contrary to what its short-term holders are doing.
Pseudonymous on-chain analyst Darkfost recently took to CryptoQuant, via a Quicktake post, pointing out that Bitcoin’s long-term holders are racking up more BTC. The relevant indicator here is the LTH supply change (Coinbase fix).
For context, this metric tracks the net change in the amount of Bitcoin held by long-term holders (typically coins unmoved for ~155 days). According to the analyst, approximately 186,000 (on a monthly average) have been added to the Long-term holders’ supply.
Seeing as more coins are aging past 155 days, Darkfost implied that short-term holder supply is, in turn, witnessing steady contraction. Notably, the analyst pointed out this kind of transition (between long-term and short-term investors) last happened in April, as the Bitcoin price retraced.

As it is intuitively evident, a rising LTH supply is typically interpreted as growing conviction among Bitcoin’s long-term investors. By extension, this means that long-term holders are distributing less of their holdings and stowing away more.
In theory, this behavior is bullish news for the cryptocurrency. This is because, as LTHs absorb supply, the amount of available Bitcoin for sale reduces. Historically, it is also a bullish signal for the BTC price, as it has often appeared during the early stages of accumulation periods or late into correction stages.
However, the broader market implications in the current context might not be so favorable. Darkfost highlighted that there is very weak demand available to cushion the falling BTC price.
At the same time, the Bitcoin market appears to be entering a bearish phase; hence, it is not far-fetched to see major capitulation events in the near-term. If this happens, the Bitcoin price would likely plummet, as weaker investors may sell off their holdings in fear or as victims of liquidation events.
For a bullish outlook to be truly relevant, there has to be a clear recovery in demand, alongside continued long-term holder accumulation.
As of press time, the Bitcoin price stands at approximately $78,060, reflecting a 6.9% loss in the past day.

Ethereum is trading around key demand levels as fear and uncertainty grip the broader crypto market. The second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has struggled to regain bullish momentum, currently hovering near $3,150 after weeks of consistent selling pressure. However, new on-chain data from CryptoQuant reveals that Ethereum might be nearing a crucial accumulation zone — one historically associated with long-term holder activity and market bottoms.
According to the report, the ETH price is now just 8% away from touching the Accumulation Addresses Realized Price level at $2,895. This metric represents the average cost basis of long-term investors who have been steadily stacking ETH during previous market cycles. A move toward this level could signal the final stages of the ongoing correction, potentially attracting renewed interest from strategic buyers looking for value entries.
Historically, similar declines toward the realized price of accumulation addresses have acted as strong support zones, leading to price stabilization and subsequent recoveries. While short-term sentiment remains fearful, the proximity to this key level suggests that Ethereum could soon reach a point where long-term investors begin accumulating once again — setting the stage for a potential market rebound.
According to CryptoQuant analyst Burak Kesmeci, the $2,895 level represents the average cost basis of long-term Ethereum accumulators — investors who have been “patiently stacking” through multiple market cycles. This group tends to buy during periods of maximum fear, forming a stable foundation for future rallies.

Historically, Ethereum has only dipped below this key level once, during the April 2025 Trump tax-tariff crisis, when global markets faced extreme uncertainty. The Global Economic Policy Uncertainty Index (GEPUCURRENT) surged to 629 points, surpassing even the COVID-19 pandemic peak by 50%. Despite the widespread panic, long-term holders continued to accumulate aggressively rather than sell.
In fact, 2025 saw around 17 million ETH flow into accumulation addresses, raising the total balance held by these wallets from 10 million to over 27 million ETH. This trend highlights the conviction of Ethereum’s strongest investors, who have repeatedly viewed fear-driven sell-offs as opportunities.
If Ethereum were to decline another 8%, it would reach this cost basis once again. Historically, this level has acted as one of the strongest long-term accumulation zones, signaling value and resilience. As Kesmeci notes, even if ETH briefly dips below $2,900, it’s unlikely to remain there for long.
Ethereum’s weekly chart shows that the asset is holding above a key structural support zone near $3,000, after several weeks of downside pressure. The price briefly dipped below this level last week but recovered quickly, forming a potential short-term base around the 200-week moving average — a historically significant line that has supported major bottoms in past cycles.

Currently trading around $3,190, ETH is attempting to maintain stability within this critical range. The 50-week moving average remains slightly above at $3,500, serving as immediate resistance. A break above that level would be an early signal of renewed bullish momentum, while losing $3,000 could trigger a deeper correction toward $2,800–$2,900, which aligns closely with the Accumulation Realized Price highlighted by CryptoQuant analysts.
The recent decline mirrors past phases of market reset, such as the April 2025 correction, where Ethereum similarly tested long-term supports before rebounding strongly. The confluence of technical and on-chain data suggests that current levels are being closely watched by long-term holders and institutional accumulators.

Ethereum is trading above $2,400 after enduring several days of volatility and uncertainty. The price has managed to stabilize despite sharp intraday swings, reflecting growing tension between bullish momentum and cautious sentiment. Analysts are now calling for a decisive move, with some expecting a breakout toward higher levels, while others warn of a possible correction if key demand zones fail to hold.
On one hand, ETH has shown strength by holding above its short-term support range, suggesting that buyers are stepping in with confidence. Bullish momentum appears to be building, especially as macro sentiment around risk assets begins to recover. On the other hand, opposing views point to weakening volume and lingering macroeconomic risks, which could trigger a deeper retracement if Ethereum fails to sustain current levels.
Adding weight to the bullish case is fresh data from CryptoQuant, which highlights a strong accumulation pattern among long-term ETH holders. According to the data, significant buying pressure emerged during the recent consolidation phase, with hodlers steadily increasing their positions. This divergence between price action and accumulation behavior suggests that foundational support for Ethereum remains intact, even as traders await the next major move.
Ethereum is struggling to reclaim the $2,500 level, but its ability to hold steady amid ongoing market uncertainty is a sign of underlying strength. For weeks, ETH has traded within a well-defined range between $2,200 and $2,800, with neither bulls nor bears able to take decisive control. This prolonged consolidation has delayed the long-anticipated altseason, which many believe will only begin once Ethereum breaks above key resistance and pushes into higher territory.
Despite the lack of clear direction, the macro setup is becoming increasingly interesting. Global markets remain volatile, with shifting interest rate expectations, geopolitical risk, and unpredictable liquidity conditions creating mixed signals across risk assets. Yet Ethereum continues to hold firm, supported not just by technical structure but also by significant long-term holder activity.
According to insights from CryptoQuant, a strong accumulation pattern has been detected among Ethereum holders. During the June consolidation phase, long-term investors steadily increased their positions, even as price action remained choppy. This divergence between price and accumulation volume signals growing confidence under the surface. When price consolidates while demand builds, the result is often explosive.

With ETH holding key support levels and long-term accumulation rising, the stage may be set for a major move. If Ethereum can push through $2,500 and reclaim higher ground, it could serve as the ignition point for a broader altcoin rally. Until then, the market remains in a state of quiet buildup. Something big is coming—and Ethereum is at the center of it.
Ethereum is currently trading at $2,470 after failing to hold intraday gains above the $2,500 level. The 12-hour chart shows ETH consolidating within a broader range, with $2,200 acting as strong support and $2,800 as key resistance. Despite several bullish attempts, Ethereum has struggled to reclaim higher ground, and the rejection near the 100-period SMA (green line at $2,537) signals persistent selling pressure near resistance.

The price is currently trading above the 200 SMA ($2,170) and just under the 50 SMA ($2,507), which now acts as a short-term resistance. This tight positioning of moving averages suggests ETH is at a decision point—either it breaks through $2,500 to target $2,600 and higher, or it risks rolling over if bulls fail to hold momentum.
Volume remains relatively flat, indicating indecision. The overall structure still favors a neutral-to-bullish bias, especially if price continues to close above the 200 SMA. However, a breakdown below $2,400 would increase the risk of a retest of the $2,200 support zone.
