Ethereum’s most recent price rally has eroded Bitcoin’s dominance, representing one of the steeper movements in the crypto space in recent months.

Though both assets have registered growth, US President Donald Trump’s long-time crypto skeptic, Peter Schiff, made it plain which one he would retain in case he were forced — and it isn’t Ethereum.

ETH Pushes Past $4,000 Amid Strong Activity

Ethereum moved past $4,000 in recent trading sessions, reaching a high for 2025. Whale transactions and heavier derivatives trading have been the fuel to this price action, according to reports.

Volumes and open interest have also gone up, indicating healthy speculative demand. ETH even surpassed Bitcoin’s percentage appreciation in the previous week, further pushing eagerness up among its fans.

Schiff, who is an economist and gold advocate, said Ether’s surge came after he had been recommending investors to transfer their ETH to Bitcoin.

Though that tack apparently paid off at first, Ethereum’s late-week surge closed the gap. “I have no interest in owning either, but if you put a gun to my head, I’d pick Bitcoin,” Schiff said on X.

Bitcoin Above $100k But Lags Behind In Terms Of Market Share

Despite the ETH rally, Bitcoin has kept its position as the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization and the most widely adopted by institutions.

It is still above $100,000, buoyed by spot Bitcoin ETF inflows and corporate treasury buying.

Market share statistics from CoinMarketCap, however, indicate that Bitcoin’s dominance had dropped to 59%, which is 4.90% less from last month.

Ethereum’s share has grown to 12%, up 3.25% in the same period. Altcoins combined have increased their slice to 25%, a gain of 1.50%.

Abrupt Shift From June Peaks

Bitcoin dominance hit an annual high of 65% on June 27, 2025, then retreated during the following weeks. Dominance was at 61% a week ago.

The year low hit 53% during December 2024, which means current levels are still much higher than that low but still trending downwards.

Ethereum, for its part, has continued to consolidate more, nearing the top of its yearly range.

Whether it holds there or not will be a function of institutional positioning, macro trends, and continued trading momentum.

In the meantime, Schiff’s comment made clear that, if threatened, he’d still take Bitcoin over Ethereum — a rare admission from a long-time critic of both.

Shiba Inu Promoter Ask the Doctor Dubs the Token’s Founders ‘Scammers’ https://cryptocurrencypanther.com/2022/01/16/shiba-inu-promoter-ask-the-doctor-dubs-the-tokens-founders-scammers/ https://cryptocurrencypanther.com/2022/01/16/shiba-inu-promoter-ask-the-doctor-dubs-the-tokens-founders-scammers/#respond Sun, 16 Jan 2022 20:55:31 +0000 https://cryptocurrencypanther.com/2022/01/16/shiba-inu-promoter-ask-the-doctor-dubs-the-tokens-founders-scammers/

Ask the Doctor, a strong supporter of the Shiba meme, acquired 31 billion SHIB tokens in late November. However, they have now publicly denounced the token’s developers as fraudsters. The healthcare platform believes that the token is a scam because the SHIB’s founders withheld their real identities.

The Economy Feud

Canadian online healthcare firm AskTheDoctor had emerged as a top Shiba Inu influencer. However, in recent times, the meme coin has fallen out with the medical community, claiming that the memecoin is nothing but a scam. They say that the meme coin is “the biggest scam in crypto.” while also threatening to sue developer Shytoshi Kusama.

In addition, it is preparing to reveal the pseudonymous developer in a series of tweets. Shytoshi, on the other hand, said today that AskTheDoctor was operating a fraudulently acquired account on Twitter. He warned that the company was plotting to acquire money illegally.

The firm, later on, claimed to have gotten rid of SHIB from its books, and all merchandise has been refunded. Additionally, AskTheDoctor accused Shytoshi of creating the Squid Game token, the most infamous crypto scam of 2021.According to finbold, the developers of $SQUID are now $SHIB whales. After the downfall of $SQUID, a $125M purchase of $SHIB was made by a Squid Game wallet. Such reasons have given AskTheDoctor a motion to sue the memecoin’s developers.

The Shiba Inu team  provided many ultra-bullish predictions, including that Shiba Inu would surpass the Bitcoin market cap in now-deleted tweets. The official Twitter account is now promoting Floki Inu’s and boxer Tyson Fury’s “cool mental health” project with no further information given.

Shytoshi claims that he could sue AskTheDoctor for libel but doesn’t want to pursue the matter. Also, Dogecoin’s co-founder Billy Markus characterized AskTheDoctror’s Twitter feed as a “sitcom” in a series of tweets. He added that it was exciting to witness SHIB members go after the company that had assaulted their community leader.

Earlier Collaborations

On December 1, two of the epidemic’s most significant developments, telemedicine, and cryptocurrency, again came into a collaboration. The move happened when Canada’s online medical service provider added $1.5 million in Shiba Inu to their balance sheet.

They are now ready to take the currency as payment for services rendered.

The company asked 27,000 people on Twitter what they would like it to add to its balance sheet. The majority of people voted for the option “SHIB-USD.” After being inspired by Shiba Inu’s strong community, the medical entity updated its profile picture to the Shiba Inu logo.

Additionally, it challenged its followers to change their profile pictures to SHIB. They were to do that until SHIB hits 0.0001. However, the health services firm now threatens to sue SHIB developers in a surprising turn of events. The medical company threatened to bring him into court in a further attempt to force the Shiba Inu founder’s identity.

Shiba Inu Civil War Erupts As Former Promoter Calls Project a Scam https://cryptocurrencypanther.com/2022/01/04/shiba-inu-civil-war-erupts-as-former-promoter-calls-project-a-scam/ https://cryptocurrencypanther.com/2022/01/04/shiba-inu-civil-war-erupts-as-former-promoter-calls-project-a-scam/#respond Tue, 04 Jan 2022 00:48:49 +0000 https://cryptocurrencypanther.com/2022/01/04/shiba-inu-civil-war-erupts-as-former-promoter-calls-project-a-scam/

A Shiba Inu (SHIB) civil war erupted on Tuesday as a former promoter and supposed SHIB whale dramatically turned on one of its project leads, the pseudonymous Shytoshi Kusama.

The bizarre soap opera played out over Twitter on Tuesday when Ask The Doctor, a Canadian healthcare company that had recently become a prominent Shiba Inu promoter, about-faced and dubbed the coin ‘the biggest scam in crypto’. Ask The Doctor went on to single out the account of prominent Shiba army member and project lead Shytoshi Kusama, accusing them of also being a scammer.

Shiba Inu accused of being a scam

In a flurry of claims and counter-claims Ask The Doctor stated that Shiba Inu is a scam, that is headed to zero, and that the project was preparing for a rugpull. None of the claims were backed by evidence. The medical agitator went on to state that a lawsuit was pending so that the identity of the person behind the prominent Shiba Inu account ‘Shytoshi Kusama’ would soon be revealed.

“We will begin our initial lawsuit filing against @Shibtoken and @ShytoshiKusama in UK tomorrow,” said Ask The Doctor in one of a series of tweets that repeated similar claims. “It’s our obligation to protect the crypto community from these potential scammers. We will get their identities.”

Following the doxxing threat, Shytoshi Kusama counter-punched with a thinly-veiled legal threat of their own.

“Tell your legal team that it is illegal to buy a verified account to use it to scam other people. Tell them it is illegal to take people’s money for a service you never provide,” said Kusama before seeming to indicate plans to self-doxx in the near future. “And if you REALLY want to come and get me…COME  GET ME. It’s almost time anyway… I’m ready.”

It turns out that Shiba Inu dramas are compelling.

While the threats and counter-threats made for a mildly diverting Twitter drama on Tuesday, it seems unlikely that the spat will result in further action, let alone legal proceedings. After incurring the wrath and ridicule of the Shib army, and having shed around 10,000 followers in 24 hours, Ask The Doctor deleted all accusatory tweets.

Shiba Inu army

Having kicked the hornet’s nest Shytoshi Kusama and the Shib army are now questioning the legitimacy of Ask The Doctor, the company, and its founder. Ask The Doctor temporarily switched allegiances from Shiba Inu to Floki Inu and promised to give away a ‘Tesla for 1 year’, before deleting the promotion.

At the time of press, Ask The Doctor no longer has any tweets promoting any cryptocurrency, or any tweets promoting temporary time-limited Tesla giveaways.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is now at a price of $0.00003673, up 11.8% in the last 24 hours.
