The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is currently reviewing 72 crypto-related exchange-traded fund (ETF) filings, according to data shared by Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas on April 21.
The filings cover assets ranging from XRP, Litecoin (LTC), and Solana (SOL) to memecoins like Dogecoin (DOGE) and themed funds linked to internet culture, such as Pudgy Penguins.
The filings, detailed in a table compiled by Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart, reflect a broad industry effort to bring a wide range of digital assets to the US ETF market.
Some proposals include spot ETFs for Solana, Dogecoin, and XRP, and leveraged and inverse products tied to Solana and XRP derivatives.
Additionally, issuers are seeking approval to offer options trading on newly launched or proposed crypto ETFs, particularly those linked to Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC).
Balchunas also compared the effect of ETF approval to a band gaining access to major music streaming services.

The successfully deployed hard fork comes with the benefits of more security and privacy. The benefits are especially to boost its native token. Monero has been surging in anticipation of the upgrade and improved crypto sentiment. The token currently trades at $166, up from a low of below $100 in mid-June.
Despite the latest upgrade, the Monero token is yet to post robust gains. As of the time of writing, the token was down by 2.18%, with the trading volume up just 10%. Monero remains on a solid uptrend despite the boosts from the hard fork. The token is supported by the 21-day and 50-day moving averages, with the latter joining recently. The MACD indicator shows waning momentum, a suggestion of a potential retracement.

However, Cardano differs from other blockchain projects by emphasizing a research-driven approach to design, aiming to achieve an academic rigor it believes will propel adoption of its technology.

The founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, started his blockchain journey in 2013. He founded an online school, called the Bitcoin Education Project, where he stumbled upon Ethereum’s own Vitalik Buterin. Not much longer, he became one of the eight original co-founders of Ethereum. After some dispute over whether Ethereum should become for-profit, Charles left Ethereum in 2014.
What makes this a real beef is not the fact that Charles left Ethereum, but how the marketing of ADA was directly targeting Ethereum. Dubbed the “Ethereum-killer,” ADA made a name for itself for quite some time as the coin to look out for. Many investors have been waiting for Cardano to take the thrown, but Ethereum has just stayed elating and on the rise – despite obstacles such as high gas fees.
Ethereum was blessed with the early start, and that has helped cement them in the position the blockchain is in today. The problem with ADA is the large amount of frozen contracts and staging drops; they face a wall of trying to get over the hump so they can finally do what many have waited for.
ADA has many game changing ideas, and contracts that can improve and help push the crypto further. Both ADA and ETH continue to have beef, but other emerging tokens have challenged ADA’s position lately as well.
