(Kitco News) – Altcoins lead the charge in this week’s crytpo market action, with Ethereum hitting an all-time high on Friday. Other notable mentions include SHIBA INU, and Squid Game, a new token inspired by the hit Netflix series “Squid Game.”

Ben Samaroo, CEO of WonderFi, discusses with David Lin, anchor for Kitco News, why the markets are up this week and what future advances in DeFi will do for the investment landscape.


“Everybody’s excited about Ethereum. There have been some technical upgrades to the [Ethereum] network, which is just providing some more confidence. Bitcoin has recently hit all-time highs. That’s definitely providing more excitement about the space, people are looking at the asset class a lot more,” Samaroo said.


SHIBA INU climbed 20% on Friday, while Squid Game coin rallied 75,000% in one week.
