The non-blockchain version of the game has been around on iOS and Android since 2012. Here\u2019s the deal; it was damn popular with 40 million downloads and with 70 million worlds created.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why it is the most highly anticipated crypto game out there. <\/p>\n

In a short, the game is all about creating an immersive metaverse where players create virtual worlds and games collectively and without a central authority. Another cool aim is making the game a DAO, so it\u2019s controlled by players for players.<\/p>\n

So how big are world building games? Well, Minecraft boasts 126 players and Roblox around 100 million. In my video, I go into the ways that the Sandbox aims to compete with these traditional gaming juggernauts. <\/p>\n

Now, what are the components of the Sandbox ecosystem?<\/p>\n

\u25ba Voxedit: Is a powerful 3D voxel modelling package, which allows users to create those in-game items and export them to the marketplace.
\n\u25ba Sandbox marketplace: which allows users to upload, publish and sell their creations made using VoxEdit, as both ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens.
\n\u25ba Game Maker: Allows anyone who owns Sandbox assets to place them within a piece of land.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfde\ufe0f Lands \ud83c\udfde\ufe0f<\/p>\n

LANDs are pieces of digital real estate within the Sandbox metaverse that players can buy to build experiences on top of. That means you can populate them with in-game assets to create unique gaming experiences.<\/p>\n

The important thing to note is that each LAND is issued as an NFT that lives on the Ethereum blockchain. So yes, you have full control over them.<\/p>\n

These assets have a capped supply of 166,464.<\/p>\n

\u2694\ufe0f In-Game Assets \u2694\ufe0f<\/p>\n

Different assets have different levels of rarity. Some only have one or two copies in the world, which means you can easily corner the market for certain in-game items. However, as the game is in closed-Alpha, you are unlikely to be flipping them to bank profit here anytime soon.<\/p>\n

SAND is the utility token used throughout the Sandbox ecosystem and has three main use-cases:<\/p>\n

The max supply of SAND is 3 billion tokens with a current circulating supply of under 600 million. That means that token holders can expect to see additional supply hitting the market in the future.<\/p>\n

However, there are demand drivers for the token in the near future, with around $3.5 million worth of lands to be sold in the next public sale. <\/p>\n
