The Milkomeda Foundation is proud to announce the launch of Milkomeda C1. The project has been steadily in the works since mid-2021, with great contributions from multiple entities including VacuumLabs, Atix Labs, and dcSpark. After many tireless months of effort, the community which has been anxiously awaiting for its launch can now jump on board and use it live on mainnet.
For those unfamiliar, Milkomeda C1 enables Ethereum dApps to be deployed in the Cardano ecosystem. This marks a pivotal moment, wherein a lot of the most battle-tested and audited smart contracts in the crypto space are now unlocked for Cardano users to take advantage of.
Step 1: Get On The Milkomeda C1 Mainnet Waitlist / Whitelist / Allowlist
We will launch with a waitlist- this was shared on our social media accounts a couple of months back. Therefore, there is no VIP process and it works at a first come first serve approach — no matter how much ADA or followers you have.
Why we decided to take this approach?
- Out of respect with the network and particularly the community we don’t want to clog the network by provoking a peak that will affect other dApps in the ecosystem.
- Furthermore, this gives us the advantage to scale up the system and make sure that everything is working correctly performance-wise.
- We launched a Testnet for multiple months and everything worked just fine: We got over 300,000 transactions, over 10,000 wallets interacting with the network and over 3,000,000 blocks were created.
- It was a difficult decision because there is not a clear answer.
The url to being added to the waitlist is the following one:
Currently, there is a queue of over 42,000 addresses waiting to be allowed to interact with Milkomeda.
How we will move forward?
- The first 10,000 addresses will be allowed to interact with Milkomeda at the very launch.
- You can check if your address made it using: waiting list check website.
- Depending on how the network is behaving today we will allow 10,000 more addresses today to access the network.
- The plan is to open the network and remove the waitlist as soon as possible. We will try to do it by tomorrow if not the day after.
Step 2: Setup an EVM-compatible wallet
To use your assets on Milkomeda C1, you need an EVM-compatible wallet. The Milkomeda Foundation has been in discussions with dcSpark to push for adding native Milkomeda C1 support inside of Flint Wallet. This exciting feature is slated to release in the upcoming months, so look forward to that in the near future.
In the meantime, the go-to way to interact with Milkomeda C1 is through MetaMask. Watch the instructional video below to learn how to set up MetaMask with Milkomeda C1:

Step 3: Move Your Assets Onto Milkomeda C1
Moving your assets from Cardano mainnet onto Milkomeda is quick and easy thanks to Flint Wallet integration. Click the link below to watch a video of how to move your ADA from Cardano mainnet to Milkomeda C1:

Step 4: Start Using EVM dApps On Milkomeda C1
MilkySwap
https://www.milkyswap.exchange/swap
MilkySwap, a low cost and high performance DEX for Milkomeda, is available from Day 1 on Milkomeda C1 mainnet. MilkySwap aims to build a self-sustainable community with its forward-looking roadmap and a strong focus on incentivizing early adopters.
OccamX
https://app.occam-x.fi/
OccamX is an AMM DEX built by a team incubated by OccamFi. It is among the first DeFi projects deployed over the L2 EVM based platform, Milkomeda C1. OccamX’s state of the art technology and system’s internal economics are geared towards attracting liquidity away from legacy L1 networks towards Milkomeda and OccamX as its core liquidity engine.
Nomad is a novel interoperability protocol designed to lower costs and increase the security of cross-chain messaging. By leveraging an optimistic mechanism, Nomad lets users send messages and bridge assets securely, with the assurances that anyone watching can flag fraud and protect the system.
MultiChain
https://app.multichain.org/#/router
Multichain considers itself to be the ultimate Router for web3. It is an infrastructure developed for arbitrary cross-chain interactions.
Celer
https://cbridge.celer.network/#/transfer
Celer is a blockchain interoperability protocol enabling a one-click user experience accessing tokens, DeFi, GameFi, NFTs, governance, privacy solutions and more across chains. Developers can build inter-chain-native dApps using the Celer Inter-chain Message SDK to gain access to efficient liquidity utilization, coherent application logic, and shared states.
MuesliSwap
https://muesliswap.com/
Muesliswap is a decentralized exchange that allows you to trade crypto assets (tokens, NFTs) on the blockchain. It is much like a traditional stock exchange, where assets are traded between participants. Yet there is a key difference: Anyone, not just market makers, can provide liquidity in the form of liquidity pools!
The following dApps are not yet available on mainnet launch, but are up-and-coming in the near future. This list provides a sneak peak of what users such as yourself can research into and get excited for after you have tried out all of the current dApps on Milkomeda C1.
API3 is builing a new generation of blockchain-native, decentralized APIs, or dAPIs for short. dAPIs are run by first-party oracles, offering end users a more secure and cost-efficient alternative to existing oracle solutions.
Connext
https://www.connext.network/
Connext is a trustless crosschain communication protocol built to enable secure interoperability. You can use Connext to send transactions of value or calldata across chains. Unlike most other interoperability systems, Connext enables this without introducing any new trust assumptions or external validators.
Blueshift
https://blueshift.finance/
Blueshift introduces a new capital-efficient and community-driven AMM digital exchange protocol. It is based on liquidity portfolios with low price slippage, low impermanent loss, and high APRs on investments.
Milkomeda C1 opens the doors for Cardano users to take advantage of a whole new slew of dApps thanks to EVM compatability. This is very exciting, yet as we have seen time and time again in the dApp space, taking security seriously is extremely important for every ecosystem.
The Milkomeda Foundation believes that users who start using C1 and all of the dApps on top should feel safe knowing that the technologies have been audited by qualified and well-known Blockchain auditing firms.
Milkomeda has successfully passed its first audit by Aritrary Execution, and is currently undergoing a second audit which will be released in the near future.
The Milkomeda Foundation has also encouraged every single one of the dApps launching on Milkomeda C1 to take security just as seriously. Below you will find a list of all of the audits currently available for Milkomeda and dApps being built in the ecosystem.
