By Jasmine Anand: On 26 December, Bitcoin is trading at $16,887.52, gaining by 0.33 percent over the last 24 hours. Its closest peer, Ethereum, climbed by 0.10 percent to $1,221.23, at the time of writing this article (1030 IST).
Other popular cryptocurrencies like XRP gained by 0.20 percent, Cardano increased by 0.27 percent, and Polygon climbed by 0.64 percent and traded at $0.3501, $0.26, and $0.8011, respectively. Tokens like Litecoin and Polkadot surged by 4.83 percent, and 1.05 percent, respectively. However, Solana, Uniswap, and Stellar witnessed a dip in their prices.
Today, the global crypto market cap grew by 0.14 percent to $812.44 billion and at the same time, total crypto market volume zoomed by 38.57 percent to $22.56 billion, since the previous day.
Today’s top gainers include Litecoin, The Graph, Casper, and Lido DAO, while Chain, Aptos, Stacks, and Trust Wallet Token, were among the top decliners.
Meme coins display mixed momentum
Top meme coins showed mixed momentum. While Elon Musk’s favourite, Dogecoin, dropped by 1.14 percent over the last day and is currently trading at $0.07609, another canine-based meme coin, Shiba Inu, advanced by 0.20 percent to trade at $0.00000834.
Metaverse tokens trade mix
Even the world of metaverse tokens registered mixed trends on Monday. While The Sandbox and Decentraland were up by 0.09 percent and 0.37 percent, respectively, tokens like Axie Infinity and ApeCoin lost by 0.53 percent, and 0.16 percent, respectively, at the time of writing.
